| Le Renard (the fox), retort of the boat of Robert Surcouf on the square of the railway station Montaparnasse in Paris! (in December, 2005) This special operation, led by the town hall of St Malo, was intended to promote the arrival of the TGV (very fast train) in the city of Saint-Malo on December 11th, 2005. Six days were necessary to forward the Fox at the foot of the tower Montparnasse and it for a 200 000-euros expense paid for half by private partners. Presence of the boat corsair was the most comical, in effect the association of this cutter corsair put in water in 1812 with this symbol of modern architecture which represents the tower Montparnasse is not habitual. Le Renard came by waterways, from Saint Malo to the Havre, then took back up river Seine to Paris. The boat was then transported on night truck across the capital towards the railway station Montparnasse. The access to the roof of the boat was possible to the visitors, but it was nevertheless difficult, considering this place of the most built-up of it to take for a corsair going to attack the English ships! Here are some photographs for those who had no chance to see it on Paris, because it was the first time and certainly the last. The fox is managed by an association, its Website is: Le Renard | |||
