| Saint Malo - Pointe à Pitre (Guadeloupe - Carabean island) (november 2002) 2002, the 7th edition for this "Road of the Rum". This race takes place every 4 years, first edition was thus in 1978. This year there was marked by numerous problems with the big catamarans. A lot of break-in which made abandon this type of boat on this event, 2006 will opt for trimarans. Here some pictures of the departure in the Pointe du Grouin (on the West of the bay of the Mountain St Michel, above Cancale city) On Saturday, departure of the monohulls, was particularly windy, what allowed us to take very beautiful pictures. The next day had become again more quiet for the departure of multihulls. Reminder : Ellen Mc Arthur on its King Fisher, here in photo, gained the event monohull and pulverized of 21 days the previous record, with 13 days, 13 hours and 31 minutes. | |||
